Colonoscopy Video Tour: Discovery of a Cancerous Polyp (Colon Cancer)

ACG Trustee Mark B. Pochapin, MD, FACG, Director of The Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health, narrates a tour of a patient's colon during a colonoscopy where he discovers a cancerous polyp (colon cancer). The patient did not have any abdominal or rectal pain, or any other symptoms associated with colorectal cancer. However, prior to this colonoscopy (when the cancer was discovered) the patient was diagnosed with anemia due the slow bleeding of this polyp in her colon.
