Squats on Helix – part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats. Hi, I am Gilly Rinaldo with Smart Workout and I am here to show you squats on the Helix trainer. This is a great way to incorporate cardio, as well as quads and gluts into your daily workout routine. This is similar to an Elliptical trainer, except that it moves sideways so, it moves laterally working the outer and the inner thighs. So, what you can do to start is take your hands to these bottom rungs and start with an outward surf here. Then, you are going to bend your knees into a squat position, keeping the elbows bent, abs engaged and the shafts will lift it. Continue her for about a minute or two. Then, bring it back up to a standing position, reverse directions to an inward surf and then, sit down nice and low, shafts lifted, and bring it down to a squat. Hold here for about one to two minutes and then, bring it back up and reverse again if you feel necessary. This is a great way to incorporate both cardio, as well as lower body conditioning into your fitness routine.
