HOW I DEEP CLEAN AND DEEP CONDITION MAKEUP BRUSHES (NOT TRADITIONAL CLEANING)
Makeup is a breeding ground for bacteria. Now, think of all the bacteria you have on your skin and then think how often you touch your brushes to your face. We wouldn't go a week without washing our hands, why do would you wait so long with your makeup brushes? I consider my makeup, as well as my makeup tools, to be an investment. Most of my makeup brushes are priced between $25-$65. I aquired these brushes over time and I intend to use them for quite a while. Makeup brush maintenance is a common oversight and is often the root cause of acne because of the bacteria that is living in/on your brushes. EEK!! It is recommended to wash your brushes at least once a week if they are for powder applications, and every day for liquid makeup such as concealer and foundation. You can prolong the lifetime of your brushes by deep cleaning, as well as deep conditioning, your brushes every 2 weeks. You should be spot cleaning your brushes after every use and shampooing your brushes every week; however, Deep cleaning and conditioning your brushes will extend the lifetime of your brush and the overall health of your skin.
