Casey Anthony, The Verdict and Jury Duty

I have found the experience of the Casey Anthony Trial and verdict to be incredibly annoying from beginning to end! www.britethorn.com The last straw, for me, however, came when I received a summons for Jury Duty in the Chicago area. With all the millions of Americans who have been riveted by courtroom drama, why can't the government get THOSE people to volunteer for jury duty? If they have enough time to devote hours a day to following trials on TV, then they can certainly be expected to enjoy the experience of serving on a real jury! What do you think about Casey Anthony? Did you hear about Casey Anthony? I couldn't believe the Casey Anthony Verdict. That's all I heard yesterday, everywhere I went! Casey Anthony! Casey Anthony. So will someone explain to me why it is that so many people have so much time to follow this trial for YEARS, but that I still have to deal with one of these? JURY SUMMONS! Jury Duty! It's a pain in the ass, its your civic duty, the government practically has to hold a gun to your head to get you to do it — despite the fact that there are millions of people in America who have nothing better to do with their time than watch countless hours of reality courtroom and law enforcement shows. So give them jury duty! At least they'd enjoy it, and then maybe they'd understand how the jurors in the Casey Anthony trial must feel watching TV anchors and self identified mothers weeping on air over the verdict. Really?
